John Mederios
Pontiac(s)1974 Pontiac Grandville Convertible
Member Bio
1930-2009

John Mederios has another one of those very special stories about his 1974 Pontiac Grandville Convertible. He bought his car in April of 1974 in Chicago for $6,972. He drove it for one year then put it in the garage to save for special showings and occasional drives. It has 42,000 original miles. Just my guess but I don’t think too many collector cars are still in the possession of their original owner and in show condition.

In 1974 GM decided they would not make any more convertibles. The last ones were made in 1975. It made John so mad he decided then & there to keep his forever.

This car has not been rained on in 30 years. It is co-owned by John and his wife Carol.

It is Aqua Mist with white interior. Of the 36,345 Grandvilles made that year 3,000 were convertibles.

John’s grandson Jordan has already laid claim to it. Smart kid.
